Styled Shoot Secrets & Vintage Bridal Style Tips: This styled bridal shoot is really special because it showcases some of our really rare and beautiful early vintage wedding dresses and accessories dating from the 1920s, 1930s & 1940s.
Beautiful wedding dresses like the ones in this photoshoot dating from early time periods such as the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s are increasingly very rare and collectible finds and are becoming more and more difficult for us to source. They are classic and elegant in their design and can often be quite delicate due to their age. They are often made from fabrics such as silks, satins, lace and organza. Dresses from these eras also sadly do tend to fit on the petite side and are a lot smaller than modern dresses, both in terms of height and overall size. This is because of post war rationing and the differences in lifestyle women lived with then compared to now, so we can only source these wedding dresses in sizes equivalent to modern sizes 2 to approximately size 8/10.
We love styling our vintage wedding dresses both with vintage and modern hair and make-up looks, so it was really fun to style was fun to style the looks in this shoot with our beautiful model Elizabeth’s edgy pink hair styled in a very vintage style! We think this demonstrates how you can style your dress however you want
