our story began WHEN We launched our exclusive vintage bridal wear collection WITHIN OUR ORIGINAL VINTAGE BOUTIQUE IN EDINBURGH IN 2011. after years of growing our collection and helping lots of brides from all over the UK and overseas to find their perfect dress we decided to expand our business and opened our brand new, dedicated vintage bridal boutique in June 2017, based in edinburgh.
Our rare and ever changing bridal collection is internationally sourced, hand-selected and expertly curated, and sustainable, and spans the Edwardian era to the 1990s. It includes glamorous gowns and dresses, suits, jewellery and accessories such as veils, tiaras, hats, headpieces, handbags, fur stoles, wraps and capes. We specialise in beautiful vintage dresses you won’t find anywhere else!
Vintage wedding dresses are rare and covetable and provide the perfect alternative to modern day wedding dresses. Choosing a vintage wedding dress doesn’t mean you have to theme your wedding or look. Instead, it allows brides to create a bridal look that is unique to them. With over 100 years of fashion history to choose from there really is something for everyone.
We’ve chosen all of the pieces in our collection because they’re beautiful, glamorous dresses that we’ve fallen in love with, and because they’re wonderful examples of each era’s iconic styles and fashion history. Each dress is also selected because of the high quality of its condition, design, fabric and craftsmanship. Our dresses are unique and a little bit quirky, often quite modest and a bit more alternative in style. And every piece is expertly cleaned and restored before it arrives in the boutique.
We love helping brides to find their dream wedding dress and it’s important to us to make sure a visit to our boutique is relaxed and fun. We believe that you should wear the dress, the dress shouldn’t wear you. We want our brides to feel amazing, relaxed and comfortable. You should be able to move around, hug people, sit down, eat and dance the night away in your dress and most importantly you should feel your most beautiful self when you’re wearing it. We will help guide you to find your dream dress in our relaxed, easy going and enjoyable appointment. Your bridal stylist will help ease any nerves and will guide and support you and provide honest insight so that you can find a look that is perfect for your style, your silhouette and for your wedding.
A vintage wedding dress is a truly unique item both in terms of its design and its fit. It’s true that the sizes of vintage wedding dresses are smaller than modern dresses (usually ranging from equivalent to a modern size 2 - 12/14) due to the periods of rationing these women lived through and because of the differences in lifestyle they experienced compared to now, and because of this we don’t offer our vintage wedding dresses for sale online. Instead we’d love you to book a private appointment to visit our boutique to see the current collection so that we can help guide you through the wide choice of styles and help you find your dream dress. At any one time we have around 200 vintage wedding dresses in the showroom so there’s always lots of gorgeous styles to fall in love with.
It is a core principle of our business that we are inclusive and we celebrate weddings of all sexual orientations, genders, races, and abilities.
