Shoot Secrets & Vintage Bridal Tips: Short Wedding Dresses are beautiful and elegant and suit a whole range of venues and styles of wedding. Our short white 1950s French lace wedding dress looks absolutely stunning shot here in the luxurious surroundings of Carlowrie Castle in Edinburgh. Dresses from the 1950s era sadly do tend to fit on the petite side and are a lots smaller than modern dresses, both in terms of height and overall size. This is because of post war rationing and the differences in lifestyle women lived with then compared to now, so we can usually only source these wedding dresses in sizes equivalent to modern sizes 2 to approximately size 10.
The other wedding dress in this styled shoot is a fabulously glamorous champagne coloured beaded Art Deco style full length dress dating from the 1980s because of the age of true Art Deco period dresses they are often very rare and difficult to find. Their advanced age can also mean they can be quite delicate, so a more modern take on the original Art Deco style is often a great option for brides. Especially if a lot of wild ceilidh dancing is planned!
